Fun Valley (family vacation) June 24 - July 6

Fun Valley is located on the south fork of the Rio Grande River between Pagosa Springs and South Fork, Colorado. It is a campground with not only camping sites but a motel and cabin accommodations as well. There is a restaurant and gift shop on site. Activities include miniature golf, horseback riding, paddle boats, fishing ponds, tubing on the river, square dance barn, and youth game building. Regular golf is available every day in nearby towns --transportation is furnished. This is a perfect place for families to gather!

Sunday morning breakfast in the pines! Amy and Ashley (Kyle's fiance) cook up a mess of pancakes while Bill, Chris, Rod, Russ and Bobby chow down.

Didn't take long for this crew to woof down the supply of pancakes, bacon and sausage!

No doubt Bobby and Jenni are discussing fishing plans.

For the first time in many years, our entire family (with the exception of our oldest granddaughter Stephanie) was able to worship together on Sunday morning. We all wore matching shirts designed by Rod. After church family pictures were taken near one of the fishing ponds. Somehow Jenni's picture was not taken -- she was busy taking everybody else's picture. Upper right: Bill, Chris, Alyssa and her friend, Hans. Lower left: Bobby, Amy, Tiffany, Ashley and Kyle. Lower right: Serena and Rod.

Our city slicker kids:

We celebrated Chris' birthday and Father's Day for Russ. Funny cards, home-made ice cream and brownies were the highlights of the day.

4th of July Parade....
Getting ready:
Who knew learning to play the kazoo could be soooo much fun. We played "God Bless America" during the parade, but Rod insisted on playing "The Star-Spangled Banner" during rehearsal!

Ready to roll!! Family parade coordinator, Amy! ("Bossy" for short.) Rod also designed these shirts.

Elvis has left the building!

Jeeping on Rat Creek near the Continental Divide; family outing to Cottonwood Cove.

This majestic buck excited us with his presence as we drove along the road to Tucker Ponds. You need to click on this picture to enlarge and see how beautiful he really is.
